CUP is making a real difference in the lives of people who have suffered great hardship

Bhim and Durga came to the US with their families who had spent decades in refugee camps in Nepal. They and their families are trying hard to learn English, find work, learn how to drive and eventually become US citizens. For all those reasons they've come to CUP (Community Upliftment Program), . Its founders are former refugee camp teachers who volunteer their time to helping fellow refugees. They hold classes in a friend's basement, transport refugee students to the classes, and have no resources other than chalk and a blackboard. They need funding for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teaching materials, computers and training in their use, larger classrooms, transportation and gasoline, and coaching for job readiness, drivers tests and citizenship preparation.

CUP is making a real difference in the lives of people who have suffered great hardship and who have come to this country to make a fresh start. CUP’s students, young and old, are working hard to improve their lives and those of their families as well as the new community that has welcomed them. Please make a generous donation to CUP. Click on Donate and feel honored that you've done your part to help CUP help those who dream of a brighter future.
