In a magical moment fit for a fairy tale, the Oneida Pop Warner Jr. PeeWee cheer team earned the honor to compete at a cheerleading championship at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.
The girls wished upon a star and put in hours of practice to advance to the final national stage.This year's trip to Disney is a first for the Oneida Cheer program and the conclusion of a thrilling competition season.
At the 2018 Pop Warner National Cheer & Dance Championships December 3rd – December 7th Jr. Pee Wee Coach Stephanie Wickham and her cheer team will proudly represent Oneida. Team members are Olivia Anania, Natalia Chevez, Hayleigh Cimpi, Giulianna Ferrucci, Skye Lighthall, Berlyn Schroeter, and Allison Vanderworken.
The honor is the result of the regional competition in early November, the Eastern Region Pop Warner 2018 Cheer & Dance Championships. The Jr. Pee Wee team came in 2nd place in their age and ability level, allowing them to advance on to Disney.
We are so proud of our Jr. Pee Wees and all of our Oneida cheerleaders! They are all champions to us, and we are so excited for Jr. Pee Wee to advance on to nationals to represent Oneida proudly.
There are many anticipated expenses associated with a cheer team's trip and participation in the national event. Community support is greatly appreciated...every little bit helps !
