A Tribute to Ellen Rose Davis

Ellen Rose Davis is known by many as "mother".  

A remarkable woman  who won the hearts of thousands of Falkland Island veterans returning to the islands to visit fallen comrades or remember their experiences in the 1982 war.

Ellen welcomed every veteran as they arrived at Liberty Lodge and arranged many experiences for them all.  She sat with those who needed someone to sit with, she drank with those who wanted to talk.  She drove those who couldn't drive, cooked for those who couldn't cook and was a friend to everyone.

Ellen had her own battles to deal with and didn't want to know when the end would be but she stayed brave and was an inspiration to us all.

Ellen gave up her fight at 11:50pm on the 13th Sept 2108

This fundraising is to purchase a tribute for Ellen, details of which will be chosen by her family and which will be proudly displayed in Liberty Lodge, remembering the service and love she has given to so many veterans over the years.

Any remaining funds will be sent to the Falklands Veterans Foundation including Liberty Lodge to help secure the future of the Lodge and the outstanding work that Ellen has done for veterans.
