A sweet girls wish

Hello Everyone,

My name is Nancy and this special Go Fund is being raised for my daughter in law Courtenay.

Courtenay was diagnosed August 6, 2021 with a stage-3 Oligodendroglioma. Which is a fast-growing tumour that forms in the frontal area of the brain. Courtenay underwent surgery on August 9, 2021, and doctors were able to remove 80% of the tumour. She followed up with BC Cancer, receiving radiation and chemo treatments, as well as therapy through a local naturopathic cancer clinic.

Later, she had her second surgery on April 12, 2022, in an attempt to remove the cancer that had grown. Few months later she had a seizure on June 8, 2022, and the doctors were concerned at how quickly the tumour had grown back.

She started Drip chemo sessions, one round of treatment every three weeks, for 6 sessions - unfortunately, these procedures proved to be ineffective on her sadly.

Courtenay and my Son, had planned to get married in August, but in order for Courtenay to feel more present - and to ensure that her dream wedding came true - we moved her wedding date. OnJuly 8, 2022, my Son and Courtenay were able to become Mr and Mrs.

Courtenay, really wanted to go on a honeymoon, but decided not too and instead wanted to focus her time on health and her well being.

On November 21, 2022 Courtenay had her third brain surgery, in an effort to remove the tumour that had taken up 25% of her brain. The doctors were able to remove 80-90% of the tumour. The doctors told us that this surgery was only undertaken in an effort to make her more comfortable. The tumour is too aggressive - there is likely going to be no more surgeries, and any further steps are undetermined, as chemo and radiation have proven to be ineffective.

Courtenay intends to continue to do all that she can in order to stay as well as she can, for as long as she can: she is committed to a strict diet, no sugar or carbs, and as healthy a life-style as she can manage.

** Courtenay’s dream is to go to New York city and see the Niagara Falls with her husband and make memories as long as they both can before another life turn hits her again**

Because Courtenays cancer is more aggressive now , she has to stay close to be monitored. I would like to raise money for my son and daughter in law so I can send both to Toronto and take care of flight and accommodation. That way Courtney is still able to see Niagara falls with her husband.

If we all could come together and do this for Courtenay before New years that would be greatly appreciated.
