Hi all,

My name is Barb, and I'm trying to raise funds to help support my husband, Don. In March of this year, Don was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4, inoperable cancer in his esophagus, liver, and bones. We recently learned from the doctor that Don doesn't have much time left. He continued to work for as long as possible to help support our family of four, but he recently had to stop working due to his cancer. We are trying our best to make ends meet but have a new $10,000 deductible for insurance to help Don receive ongoing care. Even before Don had to stop work, I had to take time off from my job. With both of us losing income, we cannot afford our house payment and utilities for the first time in 18 years. In addition to these challenges we recently discovered a leak in our roof which needs to be replaced. We have taken out a loan but don't know how we will be able to repay it now.

While we hate to be in a position to ask for help, I realize I'm in a situation where I can't take care of all our needs alone. I hope to be able to pay all your kindness forward at some point when I'm able.
