A Spirit of Generosity

Our co-worker Kim has been an incredible asset to the Washington Elementary School Community in Barto, PA. She is the type of individual that all of us strive to be. She is not only a 1 on 1 para, but is also an active HSA member eager to help with every  HSA event.  Kim's generous spirit always goes above and beyond her school duties to ensure that teachers and students are able to make the most of each day. She never has to be asked to assist with anything because when she sees a need she jumps right in with her whole heart.  Two months ago Kim started  feeling weak and began losing a significant amount of weight. Doctors began testing every organ in her body and were not able to clearly identify the medical issue. Kim  has been getting x-rays, scans, ultrasounds, blood work,  infusions, IV scans and biopsies to help determine the underlining issue.   While she has been going through all of these trials the veins in her legs began swelling making it difficult to bend her legs, walk and even stand for long periods of time. Doctors have scheduled surgery believing that her gallbladder and liver may be the cause. The fact that Kim has not been able to work since the beginning of February, but is accruing medical bills has put an unexpected financial burden on her family. The staff at Washington have been doing everything they possibly can to support Kim, but we need all the financial help we can get to make sure she, her husband and their two children are well cared for during this struggle. We can't say enough how deserving this beautiful woman is and ask that you find it in your heart to give to her just as she has given so much to so many.
