A Special Garden in Memory of Harry P. Palagi Jr.

In memory of our father, Harry P. Palagi Jr., we are honoring him by establishing a fund that will be used to plant a new garden at the Barrington Library, in Barrington Rhode Island. All proceeds will go towards this special initiative as we work with the Barrington Library on the development of his lasting legacy.
Harry started growing his garden when he was very young, and he continued this passion until he could no longer manage the tending of one of the most bountiful gardens on the street. He was known for his tomatoes and could be counted on to share them with friends and neighbors each season. As children, we were often caught picking the green beans out of the garden and snacking on them as we played outside. And there was nothing like the taste of a cold, crisp, fresh salad, with all of the ingredients straight from his garden.
As an avid reader, and a longtime resident of Barrington, he often visited the library to keep his mind sharp. Everyone who knew him, knows how he was full of history, and little-known facts – he could knockout a crossword puzzle in minutes.
Given his love for knowledge, and his love for gardening, we could not think of a better legacy than to contribute to the Barrington Library in this special way.
