Support a young dad through cancer treatment

My name is Hisham, and I am known as Hawkar. I am 26 years old, and I am a second-year pharmacy student at Swansea University.

A friend recently shared the heartbreaking news that he has stage 3 colon cancer. This young man is 28 years old and has two beautiful daughters, one aged six and one two years old. He has an enormous faith that God will help him see his children grow up. His beautiful daughter has just started school, and he has so much to live for. These girls can’t grow up without their dad by their side. He is from Iraq and lives in Ranya, a city in Kurdistan. Due to the lack of support and good treatment, he is getting worse and worse. He has had a couple of surgeries from which he has recovered for several months. However, the doctors stopped treatment as he didn’t have enough money to afford them; sadly, his symptoms returned, and the cancer spread to other parts of his body, such as his liver and stomach. His doctors have now suggested that he could have more successful surgery in India or Germany, putting him in remission for 10 to 15 years. Still, unfortunately, he is not able to afford these treatments now as he had to use all of his savings on medical treatments so far and paid around £15,000 on surgeries. The new treatments will cost him about £35,000, which is too much to afford.

I know how it feels like because I experienced this when my mother left us due to liver cancer a couple of years ago. We couldn't do anything about it because it is unlike the UK, where we have everything we need and can access treatments.
