A Second Chance for Charlie

Donation protected

This is certainly something I never thought I’d have to do, but I am at a loss. My sweet, youthful Charlie is suffering from pancreatitis that is causing diabetic symptoms, and he needs immediate round-the-clock care to get over the hump to where he can come home. With proper medical care and attention, the outlook on life for him is a good one, the doctors say.

On Thursday morning, I noticed my normally talkative, playful guy was lethargic and weak. A series of testings showed his current diagnosis, and I figured the two of us would hop back in the car with some medication and head home. I, however, never could have imagined that that very evening, I would be faced with giving him a shot at life or putting him down at the young age of 7. That’s exactly what I was faced with though.

Since Thursday evening, and after 24-hours of care at SAVES in Lebanon, he is showing signs of improvement, but he still has a ways to go to get back to feeling himself. He remains in the ER. I had to put up $3,800 to give him this shot, an inconceivable amount of money, but hospitalization is the only treatment method. My fear is that after Sunday evening when that pre-payment runs out, he might need additional care, something I likey won’t be able to provide for him without your help.

Feeling helpless is one of the worst feelings in the world. There is no real known cause for pancreatitis in cats, mostly just the luck (or lack there of) of the draw. Charlie and I thank you for taking the time to read this and for donating if you can. No amount is too small. Please share.

Love,
Jordan & Charlie
