A Roof For Roman

Meet Roman. Roman is one of many neighbors I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in my neighborhood in the Dominican Republic over the past 3 1/2 months. His smile is permanently in my mind as a reminder that we can be happy no matter the circumstance. Roman lost his wife to cancer, therefore he lives alone. He has lived in very bad conditions for far too long and because he is too old to work, he has no source of income whatsoever. He has so little and needs so much, starting with a proper roof. It rains here often, and this is a necessity. So many people need help, and it’s hard to know where to start. But sweet Roman’s smile is often in my head. I want him to have a roof at the very least. These people have blessed me and I want to do anything I can for them, no matter how small. A roof costs $550 and any extra donations will go toward other necessities for Roman or anyone else in need. The money is given to the Starfish Foundation to immediately start building. 100% of donations will go toward the people here, the foundation does not make a profit.
