A River Eulogy for Direct Relief

Hi everyone, Scott & Sam here!

Thank you so much for making your way to this GoFundMe page; we wanted to share more about why we are doing this at all!

In all honesty, this journey could very well have started and ended as a personal trip between father and daughter. But the timing of this trip pressed on our minds. It is an inescapable reality that both on a global and domestic scale, we've all brushed up against the Covid-19 pandemic. 

So in response, we wanted to use this time on the river to honor the lives lost throughout this pandemic in our own small way. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for an organization called Direct Relief. 

Direct Relief’s mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty and emergency situations by equipping healthcare facilities in resource-poor areas with medicines and supplies. Direct Relief provides support in 100+ countries and all 50 U.S. states, both on an ongoing basis and during emergencies, including the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
