A Playground For All

Our current playground is over 20 years old and is in desperate need of replacement. It has exposed metal in places and is beginning to rust through.  It does not have ramps to accommodate our special needs students. We have one student in particular who lacks limbs and has never had the opportunity to play on the play structure because of the lack of ramps and the surfacing material.   We are hoping to raise enough money to install a rubberized surface so that she and our other wheelchair-bound students will be able to utilize the playground to the fullest of their abilities. The number of special needs students continues to rise each year. We are hoping that the playground will be an asset for our students for many years to come. The cost of the play structure itself is over $100,000 due to the entire structure being ramped. The rubberized surfacing costs over $70,000. The cost of installation is over $20,000. We would like to have the funds in place by the end of the school year so that when the students return next year they will have a wonderful new playground to enjoy.
