This August, I lost my beautiful Grandmother. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May. Her fight was short lived, as she suffered an allergic reaction, known as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome whilst being treated for a kidney infection in hospital. This caused the top layer of skin over her entire body to burn and blister. It also causes organ failure. This syndrome only affects 1-2 per million a year.
Just like me, she loved her glamor, her makeup and a bit of leopard print. This year, as it is my first Christmas, without such a special person in my life, I want to raise as much money as I can for Breast Cancer Ireland, whilst also raising awareness for Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.
I never want another person to feel the way I did, holding her hand in the hospital before I had to say goodbye to her. It is a feeling I will never forget, and I want to do my part to help make a change. I am running a Christmas Giveaway on my Instagram page (@katelyndeeganmakeup) called #APinkChristmas to raise money for Breast Cancer Ireland. Please head over there to enter, and donate as much as you can to this Go Fund Me. As my following is majority female, I urge you ladies to support this, as we can try and make a change.
