A New Dog to Provide Therapy For Ray
Donation protected
Gizmo was the beloved pet of Burrum Heads resident Ray Borg. On Monday Gizmo unfortunately escaped from the family business onto Pialba-Burrum Heads Road. He was sadly hit by a car, despite efforts to try and get him off the road. The car did not stop and Gizmo died on the way to the vets.
His owner Ray is devastated. To him he was more than just a pet, he was a dog who provided therapy for him. Ray suffers epilepsy and can experience up to 80 seizures a day. Little Gizmo was his best friend and shadow, who would help Ray when he had a seizure. Gizmo would lie on his chest and help him through the fit.
Since Gizmo has passed, Ray's seizures have doubled. He's been inconsolable since losing his little best friend. It's clear Ray needs a new dog for therapy and this Go Fund Me hopes to achieve that. I understand times are hard at the moment with everything happening in the world but many members of the community expressed that they would love to donate. Due to COVID-19 the demand and prices for small dogs like Gizmo has risen dramatically, making them harder to come by and much more expensive. Enquires made to various breeders regarding available pups had them quoting prices upwards of $6000 each. A cost the family can't afford at the moment.
Please help if you can and let's get Ray a new best friend to help his epilespy! Any monies left over from this fund-raiser will be donated back to a local charity,
