A New Prosthetic Steve

Donation protected
Thirteen years ago the person I now call my best friend, Sam, lost her leg in a car accident.
Despite this, she's one of the most amazing, selfless, loving people I know.  I've so very rarely heard her complain about the fact that she only has one leg, that sometimes I forget that life might be a little harder for her.
Unlike a lot of the rest of us, she actually has to worry about paying thousands of dollars for a new leg every 3-5 years as that's the typical life span of a prosthetic.  I don't have to worry about getting my legs wet at the beach, or that I might need a different leg for different activities,  or even the fact that I might have to go in every month to get an adjustment on my leg just for losing or gaining weight.

The other day she texted me, telling me that for her to even get a new leg she has to come up with $5000 in 2 weeks.  TWO WEEKS!!  Just to get something that's an absolute necessity for her!
I've seen the leg she has now and I've seen the stuff she's done to it just to make it survive until insurance will pay for a new one; just to still have to pay $5000 because that's her cost after insurance.

This girl deserves a leg that's better than the ones she gets but we'll just start at a working leg that's new.

Please share and help Sam get her new leg!
