A new chance for Sookie

Donation protected
This is Sookie 3 year old great Pyrenees. She was missing for 4 days and came home Christmas eve with a snare around her front leg. Her leg was chewed and frozen solid. She is the Saskatoon University vet clinic. We werent sure if she was strong eneough to survive the whole ordeal but the vets feel shes a fighter and worth chancing it and just take her foot. We thought they were going to have to amputate her whole leg but it was recommended to just take it off at the ankle and have a prosthetic made for her. As she is a large breed dog they feel her life will be very short if they take the whole leg and the one front has to bear all the weight. If she could manage at all. After her fighting so hard,in a baited trap with no dought predators circling, to try and chew her foot off then chew the trap and get home to us. I simply could not put her down. She is having her surgury today. The surgury is atleast $3000 . The prosthetic will be another $1000- $1500 . There will also be many trips to Saskatoon for rehabilitation, fittings and adjustments. They suggested it will take several months recovery and Dr visites. All provided the leg heals and infection doesn't move up the leg. If it does we will have no choice but to redo the surgury at the shoulder, adding another $3000 to her vet bills. We love Sookie and I can't think of anything she has ever done wrong. She guards our family and our other pets from predators night and day. She would give her life for any of us. Please help Sookie get her new prosthetic limb.
