A Little Help for Meredith

My sister, Meredith Frels, has been in the hospital since September 20.  She missed several days of work prior to being admitted.  (Meredith has no idea I have started this page, so shhhhh.  She'll probably be upset with me when the pain medication finally wears off in a week or two.)  She had been in significant pain for well over a week when doctors finally determined that she has stones in both kidneys.  She also has a large infection in the muscle tissue near her hip.  They are a little perplexed about what caused the infection.

Her left kidney is quite small and only functioning at 5%.  Further testing will determine if the doctors will remove it, or just leave it alone.  She is looking at potentially having surgery and a lot of recovery time. 

Meredith will likely not have excessive medical bills because she does have medical coverage.  However, she does not have paid leave through her employer.  So even though the medical aspect is covered, she still has rent and other expenses that she will need to pay while she is unable to work for the several weeks.  Obviously, we will help her as much as we can, but any other help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Katrina Hoing (Meredith’s favorite (and only) sibling)
