A Lift Up for Ken Sugimoto
Donativo protegido
On February 05th, 2020, Ken Sugimoto was admitted to the Kamloops hospital with severe complications from pneumonia. It was later determined that Kenny contracted COVID-19 (CV-19) while outside of Canada and his respiratory complications were from CV-19. The Kamloops hospital referred to him as “Patient Zero” as he was diagnosed after the declaration of the CV-19 pandemic.
Kenny spent many months on life-support and in a coma and miraculously survived. Kenny was released from the hospital on October 31st, 2020, nearly 9 months after admission. Because of Kenny’s deteriorated muscle mass, his mobility was limited. He is unable to walk on his own at this time and he requires assistance with everyday activities that most of us take for granted.
Money is being raised to assist Kenny and Val with funding for mobility aids and services needed to provide Kenny with a higher quality of life. The continuous stair-lift needed for Kenny to access the upper, living level of his home was estimated at almost $15,000. We urgently request donations to have the stair-lift installed so Kenny can leave the lower level of his house. Kenny will require additional mobility items as well that donations will assist.
For those of us that know this kind-hearted man, Kenny has put a smile on all our faces! It’s now our turn to put a smile on his face.
