A Leg Up for Kimber
Donation protected
Hello Folks,
One of our dear Bellingham friends, Kimber Monks, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Kimber is a single working mother raising two active children, Alex (8) and Emma (14). She had surgery a few weeks ago (with likely more to come), and begins a nine-month regimen of chemotherapy and radiation.
For those of you who have raised children or have loved ones dealing with cancer treatment, you’re familiar with the challenges that lay ahead in terms of energy, reduced work, and resulting loss of income. Some of us are pitching in to take her to and from appointments, keep her firewood stocked, and help with food as we can. But clearly she will need additional financial support to help with monthly bills and the always- present medical expenses she will face.
Some of you may know Kimber and even if you’ve just connected with her briefly, you recognize what a quality person she is. She doesn't get out as much as some of us because of the largess of her responsibilities but she is a dear, loving soul, an exceptional mother, and an integral part of our community. Anything you can contribute to give her a leg up during this challenging time in her life would be greatly appreciated.
