A Helping Hand for Murphy - Time to Give Back

Donation protected
Murphy - Where to start? So many of you already know and love him. But let’s go back to 2014 when Murphy went missing from his home in Bradford. Three heartbreaking months for his family until he was found safely, but in that time the animal-loving community had taken them all to heart.

So many special bonds were formed, so much support gathered, and although Murphy was safe at home, Andy and Pui chose to help other owners whose pets had also gone missing. Murphy’s Army became a registered charity, their Purple Poppy Campaign launched, and the team and their amazing supporters followed them every step of the way.

Without Murphy hundreds of missing pets may not have found their way home; tens of thousands of pounds would not have been granted to rescues to help animals in their care; 250 service dogs would not have special coats to keep them cool and operational in hot weather, 100 Fire Services would not be carrying life-saving pet resuscitation equipment; and over a hundred thousand pounds would not have gone to help former service animals in their retirement.

And now Murphy needs our help. He has a large tumour on his face which needs to be removed. No one knows what the outcome will be. He’s under the specialist care of Terry at Gatehouse Vets so really couldn’t be in better hands.

Murphy is coming up twelve but deserves and indeed will receive whatever treatment is needed. But that will come at a cost which, understandably, Murphy’s Army charity cannot help with. They can’t help their own, those are the rules, but outside of that, independently, we can help our own which is why this GoFundMe has been set up.

For nearly eight years, Murphy and his owners have worked tirelessly to help other animals. It’s our turn now to help them. They haven’t asked for it, but it’s due. So please, as a thank you to Murphy and in support of all the hard work put in by Andy and Pui over the years, donate if you can.
Whatever is raised will go in the first instance towards Murphy’s treatment, both immediate and ongoing. Should there be any surplus, as agreed with Gatehouse, then this will be used to neuter animals brought to them by the Rescues they work closely with.

So our ‘call to arms’ – let’s do it for the boy.
