A helping hand for Jenny
On June 16th, Jenny was enjoying the first long ride on her brand new Road King motorcycle with family. Traveling south on Hwy 53, turning by Timbers Edge, she was unaware of an approaching car and it collided with her at a high speed. She was airlifted to St. Luke's in Duluth, MN where she received immediate treatment for extensive orthopedic injuries. These inuries include (but not limited to) an an open reduction break of the femur on her right leg (mid shaft.... open reduction means the bone pierced through her skin), broken femoral head on same leg (hip is broken), removal of distal part of her 4th toe along with pinning. Her right clavicle is broken, along with her left scapula (shoulder blade). She has multiple sites of road rash and other little injuries. The main thing.... She did not suffer any head or spinal trauma! She was wearing her helmet and appropriate riding gear.
As most of us know, Jen has an insatiable love for being physically active. She is constantly walking her dogs, paddle boarding at the lake, hiking on the gorgeous trails of Lake Superior, amongst other activities. Any kind words of encouragement or gestures are welcome. She has a huge support system that loves her and will do everything and anything to help her in her recovery. Jenny's sons, Hunter and Holden, are her biggest fans, but are courageously serving our country. Please offer then support as well, because we are all affected by seeing our Jenny hurting.
Jen has a very long road ahead of her. She will not be able to work for quite a while, so any help (monetary, physically, and mentally) will be appreciated. We will also be setting up a benefit in the near future, so stay tuned.
