A Healthy Oatmeal

A few days ago the neighbor children asked Avi and I if we would take their dog as their mother no longer wanted him. I wasn't sure if this was the wisest idea, as we are extra broke this time of year due to the many unpaid holidays. 
They brought the dog over with all of his accessories and his "food". They had been feeding him dog treats. 
I gave him a bath only to find out he was covered in fleas and super emaciated. 
Well, now I couldn't give him back....
and... our trouble still existed. 
So, I reached out to a friend who works at a rescue. I was going to surrender him so that he could get the proper medical care and get neutered and such...
and then...
Avi fell in love with him and named him Oatmeal. 
If you know me, you know that Avi has had quite a difficult year. His father left us and he has been sick all month. He also never really gets attached to animals. We dog sit off and on and he never seems particularly emotionally attached to any of our wards. 

This time however.... 
every morning he asks me where Oatmeal is. 
And now he has named him, Sunny Rain Rainbow Oatmeal Cookies. 

So, here we are. 
I have a three year old (sorry, almost four year old) who is smitten with this silly little dog who needs medical care, shots, neutering, grooming, etc. and still... I am about to have a bunch of unpaid days off. 

So, please, help Avi get his new best friend all of the medical care he
needs so he can be a responsible pet owner.
