A healthy heart for Tyson!

Donation protected
Tyson is a 9 year old, 3rd grader at Lakeway Elementary School, in Littleton, NH, who until November was a happy, healthy, active boy who loves sports and any outdoor activities.  In November, Tyson developed a viral type infection.  On Tuesday, November 21st, after weeks of not getting better and numerous doctor's visits, x-rays and laboratory studies, Tyson was admitted to the Pediatric ICU at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, in Lebanon, NH, with a condition called cardiomyopathy.  After exhausting all their efforts at Dartmouth, Tyson was transferred on Monday, November 27th, to the Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's Hospital.

On Friday, December 1st, Tyson underwent placement of a VAD (ventricular assist device) or bridge device.  Tyson's doctors will be moving forward with plans for a heart transplant.

Tyson's parents, Kevin and Jennifer Hodgdon Poulton, have both taken medical leave from their jobs to be in Boston with Tyson.  Tyson's sister, Makenna, remains in Littleton with her grandmother.

This is going to be a long journey for this family.  After Tyson is discharged from the hospital, they will have to remain in Boston for the immediate recovery, and will require many follow up trips once he is able to go home in Littleton.

Your contributions to this family will be greatly appreciated.  Please keep Tyson and his family in your prayers.

Thank you!
