Needing a Hand Up - Plumbing Repair

When we heard the dripping and discovered a leak had sprung in a pipe behind the water heater, we thought we could take care of it.  Then, we discovered it was practically inaccessible.  At ages 51 and 55, one of us with physical limitations, we could not move the water heater out even with the help of my teenager.  With the help of good, strong friends, that was accomplished today, but what we thought was a simple repair turned into something beyond our (quite ample) capabilities.

I have been struggling financially for some time and thought I could work my way out of it.  The humiliating fact is that I am behind in rent and there is no way I could ask my landlady to take care of this for me when I owe her.  All of us are working, or looking for work or for better jobs.  We are now without hot water or the ability to pay for a plumber.  I am terrified of losing my place to live.

I do not have an estimate for the repair but know that it will be a significant job, requiring work underneath the mobile home.  Any excess over the cost of a plumber will go straight to my kindhearted landlady who has been as patient as can be with our situation.  We will continue to work hard and pay it forward.

The sooner we receive any help you can offer, the sooner we can make repairs, wash dishes without having to boil water, shower at home, and get back on our feet.  If you are a plumber who is willing to help us in the outskirts of Healdsburg at a reduced cost or for barter, we would love to talk with you.
