A Girl and Her Service Dog

Most of you know my little sister and her service dog. She's had him for 2 years on Valentines day. He rarely leaves her side. He is currently enrolled in college with her, getting his masters degree and will be recognized at graduation. He also goes with her to work every day and helps little kids recover from trauma. We recently found out that he is very sick and requires a lot of medical care to survive. He has been diagnosed with Valley Fever which is a fungus that dogs breath in from the ground and is very common where she currently lives. Most dogs have no symptoms, however this fungus has invaded his lymph nodes. He has trouble walking and has developed neurological symptoms such as apraxia. He isn't able to get up on the couch or bed, he just lays on the ground. He isn't able to play and has developed very bad bronchitis because of valley fever. His initial vet bill and testing was over $800. The medication that he requires will cost $1,275 a month for a minimum of 3 months. He will then require another appointment where he will go through the same tests to see if he is getting better. There is a possibility that he won't need the medications after that appointment. The sooner he starts his medication the better the chance he will fully recover. We are not sure if the $6,500 will even cover all expenses but its a start.
