A deserved send off for our dad

Donation protected
I never thought I would have to make this page but as many of you know our dad, Ian was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and it is with the heaviest heart that I say he passed away on 18/08/2018 in the comfort of his cottage where he longed to be.

We have lost all of our grandparents and now our father to this god awful disease - however, I don’t think any one could have prepared us for how truly brutal esophageal cancer could be. I can whole heartedly say that we knew my dad was tough but his strength and fight through all of this has been the most inspiring thing. He was brave until the very end and took everything like the man he was.

We are at peace knowing that dad can find his way back to his best friends - his mother Jean and father John whom he missed dearly.

With that being said we have truly lost our own best friend and our hero, and nothing will quite take the pain away.

Every penny dad had went towards his business - he was a man of little possessions and used all of the money he had to create a legacy of Rum in his fathers name. With that being said and the rapidness of this disease he had no time to plan for the end...

With funeral costs being so high we are unable to fund this ourselves, I kindly ask for any donation no matter how small so that we can give this man the send off he truly deserves. I know that anyone who ever met him will say that he touched or changed their life in some way and we would be so thankful if you could give back to a man who never asked for help himself... We will never forget his positive attitude towards life.

I will update this page with the date and place of his funeral.

I include below the symptoms - our dad’s were missed and shunned several times by doctors and professionals until it was too late... I would hate for anyone to go through even a fraction of what we have:
