Support the next exciting phase of development

Do you want to make a difference?

Help support our Museum to look to the future and move to the next exciting phase of development - moving in 2021 to a new location in Warwick with a new exhibition display and a sustainable business model.

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum (Royal Warwickshire) is a small independent charity that tells the story of the county infantry regiment from its origins in 1674 (Sixth of Foot and Royal Warwickshire Regiment) to the Fusiliers of today.

The museum is a hidden gem in Warwick. Currently in a splendid Grade I listed Jacobean building. There are many personal stories from (extra)ordinary soldiers to Field Marshal Slim and Montgomery who both served in the regiment in World War 1 before rising to prominence in Word War 2. Explore the past; find tales of heroism with the sinking of the Birkenhead and gallantry with Victoria Cross winners, as well as Bobby the antelope mascot and Hannah Snell, a female soldier.

We offer free activities for families during the school holidays, free larger events for families during the school holidays and a free monthly Veterans Café for veterans and their families. We also run an annual Armed Forces Day event at the museum in partnership with Warwick District Council and other organisations. We provide a much valued family history research service. We have a small dedicated team of volunteers who help the two members of staff and to run the museum.

We have already got a new business plan, the Trustees have undertaken Governance training, and we have an architectural plan for the new place.

But we need your help with the next stage. We do not receive regular funding from national or local Government.

We are finding local architects to carry out the necessary work on site and an interpretation company who can deliver our vision of a high quality visitor attraction that appeals to as many visitors as possible. All whilst looking after and preserving the collection for future generations to come.

We will be applying for grants to achieve the work, which will cost about £400k, so we need your help with match funding.

Like other museums we are currently closed and have been hit by the coronavirus. So we need support now to help with running costs.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to a local community museum.
