A cappella Academy or Bust! Please get me there!

Donation protected
Hi family, friends and distinguished potential donors,
I auditioned for and was selected to attend the amazingly prestigious A cappella Academy being held this summer in Claremont! This summer camp was founded by A cappella royalty Avi Kaplan, Ben Bram and Rob Dietz, 3 big names in the music industry! Thanks to their vision, I have the opportunity to learn from them and other experts in the field while meeting and collaborating with other young, like-minded artists for 10 days! Whoo hoo! Fundraiser Alert: Please consider donating to support me in participating in this life-changing opportunity.
In case you don't know me, let me tell you a little about myself... I am 15 years old and I am part of the Musical Theater Conservatory at a performing arts high school. I started playing the violin at a young age and later switched to piano, but it was my love of singing that nurtured my passion for music. The year before the pandemic, I started performing in professional musical theater shows. I was Annie at Glendale Center Theater and Alice in Matilda with McCoy/Rigby Ent. I was cast as Brigitta in the Sound of Music with McCoy Rigby Ent., but the pandemic shut the production down. I was used to taking over 15 hours of dance lessons a week and performing in back-to-back shows. I was really sad to not be able to perform. I needed to keep my love of music alive. A voice teacher recommended that I look into a cappella. I found a group and joined them for their virtual a cappella program. I learned all things a cappella: how to sing harmonies, music theory, read music, film for videos, Pro Tools and recording techniques. I loved it and I continued to do it in person after the pandemic restrictions were lifted. One positive thing that came out of the pandemic for me was my new-found love of a cappella! Our squad has performed in many locations, but my favorite was our performance at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for the LA Holiday Celebration. The theater was packed with 3500 people and it was televised live and streamed on PBS. I can't imagine my life without a cappella and I am so excited to improve my skills and learn from and with the best at A cappella Academy! I hope this helps explain why attending this a cappella camp means so much to me. Thank you in advance for your support!
Sincerely,
Erin
