A Cappella Academy 2022

Hello,

 

My name is Casey Kuma, and I am 14 years old  living in Lawrence Township, New Jersey. In December of 2021, I auditioned for A Cappella Academy, a 10-day vocal camp held in Los Angeles. Hundreds of people apply and only 85 people gets accepted, so when I discovered that I was among those who were accepted, I was very excited to learn and sing with many other talented artists.

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started singing in my church choir at the age of five years old and I have never stopped since then. In 2015, my first encounter with A Cappella music was with a well-known group called "Pentatonix". Ever since then I've been fascinated with the art of A Cappella. It wasn't until 2018 that I discovered A Cappella Academy. I couldn't audition because I was too young at the time, but In 2019, I finally had the opportunity to audition for A Cappella Academy 2020. After patiently waiting a few months, I found out that I was not accepted, which totally crushed my heart and led me to not audition for the 2021 camp, but now looking back at my previous audition, I saw that I had many things that needed improvement.

 

Fast forward to now which is why I am here.

 

With camp tuition costing almost $2300 and flights to and from California, I want to help my parents ease their stress by achieving my goal of raising enough money to be able to go to A Cappella Academy.
