Getting my family out of Gaza Strip.

Dear Kindred Spirits,

My name is Soha Surour, I am a Dutch Palestinian who seeks help to rescue my family in the Gaza Strip. Since the fateful day of October 7th, my world has been shaken by the departure of nearly 100 souls who held a piece of my heart. Each passing took with it a treasure trove of memories, leaving behind a profound emptiness that words cannot convey.

Among those lost, my thoughts are consumed by the safety and well-being of my closest kin—my mother, my six siblings, and their precious children, all weathering the storm in Gaza. Their lives, like so many others, have been shattered by the relentless turmoil, leaving them homeless and their dreams in ruins.

My sister and her children were rescued from the rubble of their house. However, the rest of my family, like countless other Palestinians, have become homeless. The haunting question lingers: will any of my family members be the next to suffer such a fate? I am simply not prepared for that possibility, and I cannot bear to witness them endure this suffering for more than 145 days now.

There is a glimmer of hope—a chance to get them out of Gaza through a special arrangement by Ya Hala Coordination Company in Egypt. Yet, the price of passage is beyond reach for many. For my family, the journey to safety through the Egyptian borders demands a staggering €130,000—a sum that feels insurmountable in our darkest hour. Ya Hala requests €5000 per person above 16 years old and €2500 per child under 16 years old.

In this time of desperate need, I turn to you with a humble plea for assistance. Your kindness has the power to bridge the distance between despair and hope, to provide a lifeline for my family to escape Gaza's turmoil.
