Surgery Fund for Zola's shattered leg

Zola was surrendered to the Houston SPCA with a broken leg and numerous bumps and bruises.  North American Shar-Pei Rescue "NASPR" was called for help and we immediately took her to our vet for pain management and evaluation.  We were referred to an orthopedic specialist because the surgery is complicated by a complete break through her lower front leg with multiple fragments.  Special orthopedic equipment will be needed such as an external fixator to stabilize the bone as it heals.  Her prognosis is good with surgery and she is currently at Texas A&M awaiting surgery.  Her surgery is estimated at @ $4000 but the good folks at A&M are applying for grant funds up to $1000 to help with her surgery cost.  Zola has stolen their hearts with her sweet funny noises and kisses just as she did ours.  Rescue rarely has funds on hand to take in severely injured dogs like Zola but as their last chance, we feel we must at least try.  With your help, we can give her the care she needs to go on to a happy healthy life.
