2017-18 School of the Arts campaign
Tax deductible
The York County School of the Arts (SOA) is a program in the fine arts, providing students with an education comparable to the math and science opportunities offered by the Governor's School for Science and Technology.
Programs at SOA emphasize:
- Academic growth and artistic development
- The multidisciplinary nature of the arts
- Standards that distinguish the meaningful from the mediocre in the arts
- Career opportunities
As in any arts program, there are many things that require support beyond the normal school division funding. And because the program is attended by students from throughout the division, it is hard to get specific funding for some aspects.
So how does your donation help?
- $1000 donation provides costuming for one of the many productions throughout the year or the materials needed for building a set or props.
- $500 donation will provide for some of the technical aspects of performance like 1 LED Par Light, 1 audio receiver and mic pack, 2 wireless mics, OR school wide benefits like the visit of a guest artist
- $250 donation can purchase classroom needs like a set of Commedia dell'arte masks, a set of scripts, or scholarship students to various conferences in their area of artistry
- $100 donation will provide the paint necessary for one show or a classroom set of literary books.
- $50 donation provides for cast and crew during the run of a show
- $25 donation pays for senior college auditions, senior recognition items, or smaller supply needs for productions.
There are some older systems that also need to be replaced and we hope to continue raising funds that will eventually lead to their purchase - ie. new sound board, light wiring system, spotlights, ect.
The bottom line - Every Little Bit Helps!
We appreciate you taking the time to visit our site and thank you for your generosity. With your help, the show goes on, lives are enriched, and dreams come to life!
