Macmillan Day Care Unit Arbroath

We are Hayley and Holly, two sisters taking on Scotland’s famous ‘West Highland Way’ to raise funds for the Macmillan Day Care Unit Arbroath.

 

We aim to raise as much money as possible for the unit in honour our family friend who has been fighting cancer with grace, pride and ferocity for a number of years. Her strength and resilience make her one of a kind, we hope to make her and her family proud with our challange. We want them to know that we are with them every step of the way.

The Macmillan Day Care Unit provides community palliative care and day treatment facilities at Arbroath Infirmary, allowing people to receive their treatment locally. The aim of the unit is to improve the quality of the patient’s life by offering much needed mutual support and understanding from the staff who acknowledge the importance of helping patients and their families to cope with their illness and the effects of treatment.

 

We will walk 96 miles, the route of the West Highland Way over 7 days, documenting our journey through Instagram, Facebook and Go Fund Me. We hope you can follow our progress and help us on our challenge by donating what you can.
