Hi I am Wanda's oldest daughter Shay.
My mother recently had a massive stroke at the early age of 46 in May of 2017. The Dr thinks that a blood clot from a fibrillation in her heart valves moved to brain and blocked the blood and oxygen. She also has diabetes and stg4 kidney failure. And because her immune system is so weak from fighting the stroke any time she gets sick or an infection it is ten times worse than if you or I got one.
She has a loving mother, an adoring husband and 3 beautiful daughters and 3 beautiful grandkids plus 2 son in-laws. We are doing a great job with helping her day to day, she tells us all the time, but money is a very big issue that we are facing. She has been the main bread winner for the past 10 years and had to let her job go completely last month. Years ago my father started to have memory problems and lost his job. For the first 5 years he could not work, now he works part time, which is putting a strain on him, mentally and physically. My grandmother does not work but recieves SSI .
Me nor my middle sister lives with her we have started families but we help as much as we can, but my youngest sister still lives with her. My Family has almost dropped everything to be able to help my mother, but the medical bills, rent and house hold bills are starting to stack up. With almost half of their income gone we are asking for any help that will make this adjustment easy and to help with my mothers recovery. My mother means the world to her kids and seeing her stressed out and worrying about bills when she needs to put her energy into her recovery breaks our heart.
