Hello, friends and family. Many of you have inquired about making donations toward Sarah and Lucas’ stay in the hospital. This gofundme page is our response.
On Tuesday afternoon, we took Sarah to Mercy Regional in Durango to check on some swelling in her feet. The doctor diagnosed Sarah with preeclampsia and told us we were likely to have a new baby very soon. Due to the urgency of the situation, Sarah was airlifted to Presbyterian Hospital in ABQ which is better equipped to handle premature births. After an intense 24 hours, Sarah’s blood pressure was brought down from a high of 190/118 to a stable 123/67. Feeling comfortable that she is now stabilized, they moved Sarah into the Maternal Special Care Unit.
Although she is now stable and feeling quite well, the nature of preeclampsia is that things can go from great to very bad without notice and the only cure for the disease is to give birth. Therefore, Sarah, Lucas, and Justin will be staying at the hospital until Lucas has arrived.
Thank you all for your support. Within the first 24 hours, we already had care packages that proved to be very helpful. You all have reminded us that we are loved very much by families across the globe and there are no limits to the powerful support system that connects our Father’s house.
