A Van for Jason

I have an amazingly strong younger brother who has faced several tragedies in his life. Though he did not get through them unscathed he did survive them.

My baby brother Jason was born with Cerebral Palsy and had many challenges as a child from development to social skills. His already difficult life was even further complicated by a house fire. He was burned severely, had several skin graphs and lost his right arm.


My parents have worked to co-parent him after this incident and we have all rallied to his side. My mother has done a lot of the work. She cares for him; making sure he is eating healthy, his hygiene is cared for as well as always keeping him entertained.


Though Jason himself can not drive, it would be awfully nice if my mom was able to transport him on her own. She is not strong enough to get him in and out of her vehicle.


If we were able to get her a mini van, regional services would provide her with a ramp and wheelchair system. It would be nice to know that in an emergency or even for fun she was able to take him out of the house.
