Valerie's Begin Again Fund

Valerie Chafograck has devoted herself to creating and cultivating a vibrant community through her loving and inspired teaching of Soul Motion dance in the East Bay. She has shown up as teacher and friend for this community again and again. She has crafted sacred space for transformative change for many of us during challenging times. 

Now is our chance to give back to Valerie, who needs our support after the recent end of her marriage to Timothy. We trust that everyone will hold her in their hearts during this difficult time, and reach out gently with love in their own ways. AND, as members of this community, we are rising up to create another way for us all to support Valerie. Valerie and Timothy recently moved to a new home, and with Timothy leaving, Valerie finds herself needing some financial support to anchor her in this time of grief. While challenging to ask for, financial support can be an incredible blessing for those going through divorce, as a two-person/two-income household becomes one. 

Per the agreement between Timothy and Valerie, most of the funds raised with this campaign will go to Valerie, helping her with home expenses (until she finds a housemate), therapy, and self care over the next few months. The remaining portion of the campaign will go towards supporting Timothy in his own transition. Many of us have our close family to lean on during life’s difficult moments. Valerie does not. We are - this community is - Valerie's family, and we have the opportunity to shower her with support and love.

Perhaps there is a profound learning here about the meaning of community and how we can show up for each other, again and again. May we always feel supported by our community. May we always respond to the call to support others.
