Pharmacy/ Medical Vietnam Mission

Xin chào! Hello everyone! We are pharmacy students at Temple University School of Pharmacy about to go on our last year rotation. This May 2018, our students will have the opportunity to join a team of students and medical professionals in traveling to Vietnam for a pharmacy/ medical mission. The medical/pharmacy mission trip will consist of ~3-4 weeks to bring medical care to the underserved patients of Vietnam. The goal of the trip is to provide healthcare to those in need through an ongoing partnership between Temple School of Pharmacy, Mercer University and VMCO (Vietnamese Medical Charity Organization) while also allowing the students to experience and participate in clinical pharmacy, orthopedic and prosthetic labs for education and training. As a team, we will travel throughout South Vietnam and set up clinic sites where local underserved Vietnamese can come and receive acute medical care such as prosthetic fittings, physical therapy, medications and counseling for disease states such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as B12 injections, blood glucose testing, and blood pressure screenings. Additionally, we donate food and supplies to local orphanages and schools. We hope to raise money for this mission trip and 100% of donation proceeds will go towards buying medication and medical supplies for the underserved patients in Vietnam.
