Unique Guide Dog needs treatment

Hi everyone, I am beside myself with worry and am urgently asking for help with regard to my beloved Leonberger guide dog Beeley AKA Lionscourt companion star.

He is the love of my life and has looked after me for 8 years through thick and thin. He is the only Leonberger guide dog in the country.

As we speak he is seriously ill in the Queen Mother hospital for animals, Royal Veterinary Collage.

Unfortunately Beeley had to undergo spinal surgery 18 months ago at another hospital and during the surgery his back broke at L7. As a result of this Beeley acquired a multi-resistant infection which the vets have been struggling to treat for the last 18 months.

We have now succeeded but the prolonged treatment has meant that his insurance limit was exceeded earlier in the year. I have funded his treatment up until last Thursday (23rd) where he suddenly developed lameness in his right elbow. Guide Dogs have paid for his care since last Thursday but will only fund £2500 worth of treatment, and will not exceed that amount.

All Beeley's treatment throughout his life has been funded by his comprehensive insurance which I took out when he was just a puppy. He has not cost guide dogs a penny until this week. I have used all of my savings to pay his bills since April this year.

Beeley's insurance renews on the 1st October so there is no problem long term but unfortunately in the next few weeks he needs further investigations and treatment. test results indicate inflammation or infection which will require a scan and streroids/antibiotics.

Beeley is absolutely unique and has given me back my independence. I do hope you can help, I would be eternally grateful for any help given as he is my friend, protector, and most of all my guiding star.
