Uganda Mission 2018
Donation protected
Medical Mission Uganda, March 2018
Greetings Everyone,
I will be heading to Kisubi, Uganda from March 19-30th on a volunteer medical mission to CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital. CoRSU has a fledgling plastic surgery program to supply desperately needed plastic surgeons to Uganda. This mission is unique as it's primary focus is teaching the future plastic surgeons of Uganda. I will also be operating and assisting operations for patients in need of plastic & reconstructive surgery.
Our donation goal is $5000 and ALL proceeds donated will be delivered to the CoRSU plastic surgery program by myself! The funds will be used to improve equipment, and to support the education of the Ugandan plastic surgeon trainees. By supporting the training of local surgeons this will help potentially thousands of the future patients these surgeons will operate on! Any amount that you are able to contribute will help.
Did you know?
Uganda has a population of over 36 million people, of which 16% are living with disabilities, most being children. (*stats as of 2014)
Did you know?
In 2009, there were 5 plastic surgeons in Uganda serving the entire countries population. (Canada has ~600 plastic surgeons for a similar population)
About CoRSU:
CoRSU was established in 2006 as a private non profit, non government organization in Uganda. Their main focus is to help children with physical impairment, providing orthopaedic and plastic/reconstructive surgical interventions and rehabilitation services.
Their vision is to ensure all people with disability in Uganda are able to access the proper rehabilitation services to improve their quality of life.
