Send UW Band to the Holiday Bowl

The University of Wisconsin Marching Band is slated to perform in the upcoming Holiday Bowl, in which the Badgers will take on the Trojans of USC.

For every bowl game attended in modern UW history, the entire band has attended--even those members, usually freshmen, who don't have full spots on the field for the pre-game and half-time performances.  They go to support the team and university they love, and for whom they dedicate hundreds of hours rehearsing, marching, and representing throughout the football season.  Other than attending the bowl game, they receive nothing but one class credit; there are no stipends or scholarships, and rarely are there freebies like sweatshirts (which are given so generously by the university to UW's athletes and spirit squad).

As reported in this WKOW Story, for the first time, the university and athletic department are declining to make available enough funding for the entire band to attend.  Unless the band can somehow raise $100,000, only two-thirds will get to go, and all of those freshmen who worked so hard over the course of the season will stay home.  This will impact the on-field peformance, as the band usually puts more than 200 of its 300 members on the field.

This FundMe page calls upon Band and UW Alumni and all who love the University of Wisconsin to help fund the Band's trip so that all of its members can attend. Once a Badger, ALWAYS a Badger.  These kids deserve to go.
