The UP! Dance Project is a multi-faceted exploration of inspiration. Through spoken word, visual art, acting, music, dance, and more, the UP! Dance Project will explore what gets us worked up, what makes us happy, what keeps us going, and what compels us to action.
I'm Jocelyn (professional dancer and teacher). In Nov 2015, I lost my mother to stomach cancer and have been healing from the trauma by finding different ways to stay inspired. In Feb 2016 I won the audience favorite award at Joy of Motion Dance Center and was given the opportunity to produce a concert at the Jack Guidone Theater on March 18th 2017 at 8pm. That's where UP! came in. I realized that we ALL sometimes need a little Boost, Inspiration, Kickstart or (especially after recent events) Pick-Me-Up.
This production includes dancers of all ages and backgrounds, musicians, actors, visual art, spoken word, and intriguing choreography.
