We are well into the month of November and settling into our new home. This means that we are also well into the month of Movember as well. In support of a variety of men's health and overlooked social issues, we are rallying a group together for two purposes:
1. Raise money for charitable causes
2. Grow world-class moustaches
First; the causes: We will split any funds raised in half (50/50) between the Movember Foundation and the Chicago-based nonprofit, GirlForward. The latter focuses on supporting young women who have resettled within the U.S. as a result of conflict or persecution. Target? $2K.
Second; the facial hair: moustaches only from November 13 to November 30. Currently have a beard? Get creative on Wednesday morning. Working on some stubble? Go for gold. Need a fake moustache? We have you covered.
By now, you're probably thinking a few things:
1. Great idea
2. Moustaches are creepy / I can't grow a moustache / It is spelled Mustache!
3. Fundraising. Ugh. Bro.
You're right, this is a great idea. Regardless of whether you can grow a moustache or have a deep network from which to fundraise, every effort matters.
