Disaster Relief Month

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have ravaged much of the Gulf Coast, particularly Houston and western Florida. There are many students at UCI Law who hail from the south, and even more who were impacted in some way by the storms. UCI Law is a strong, tight-knit and passionate community, particularly when it comes to causes of social justice. This fundraising campaign is designed with the goal of creating one easily accessible way for UCI Law and its extended network to raise donations for Hurricane Relief!
All donations will be given to the OneAppealAmerica initiative, a 100% not-for-profit appeal organized the five living former presidents. You can read more about the initative here: https://www.oneamericaappeal.org/

We have chosen gofundme because they are a trusted and reliable crowdsouricng tool--we understand the unfortunate aspect of fees involved, but it is crucial to ensure everyones donations remain secure.
Beyond online donations, we will be hosting a couple of bake-sales in the courtyard throughout Disaster Relief Month. Dates of these bake sales are tbd, but we have some incredibly talented bakers in our 1L class, so get pumped!
We encourage everyone to share this initiative with friends, family, employers past and present, and any alumni networks or UCI Law connections in the OC/SoCal community. We know money is tight for law students, so please spread the word and ask those who are in a position to donate to consider doing so through UCI Law's Disaster Relief Month initiative! Every little bit truly does count for those affected by Harvey and Irma.
