The journey too where I am now has shaped the individual that I have become today without karate I would be a different person too the individual I have become now, the support of my family friends and mentors has encouraged and helped me too thrive in this chosen sport karate and being selected to compete for Australia in the 2014 USA open and junior International Cup in Las Vegas. An achievement that has culminated from all through extensive hours of training and dedication not only by myself but the people around encouraging me and guiding me to be the best that I can be.
Karate can be considered a hobby but for me it has become a major part of my life, I do not have an off season, I train 6 days a week at a squad level and have found that karate has helped me too channel my obsessive nature due too having aspergers syndrome, karate has shaped the person I am today. I do not believe that aspergers defines me and I have been hesitant too mention that I do suffer from aspergers. I feel that aspergers is a "˜gift' enabling me too turn karate for myself into something amazing that has helped me through much of my life. Karate has turned into something much more than just a "˜hobby' for me. Martial Arts is my life and I am privileged too be able too focus so strongly on karate and excelling at karate at an elite level, surpassing the expectations of not only the people around but of the expectation I placed upon myself.
Karate has fully engulfed my life and as it is my obsession, my family has been subject too karate, countless hours of youtube videos, hours of tournaments and training sessions, long hours of travel and hours of me talking about karate (even when no one wanted too listen). I am so thankful of my relatives, friends and teachers for encouraging and coping with the often tiring nature of my obsession.
My journey too this stage in my life has not been without its ups and downs but finding karate provided a solidarity that I feel has guided my life too this point where I have been given such an amazing opportunity too represent not only my country but my parents and family on an international stage who have been by my side through out the journey that I have been on too this point in my career as a Martial Artist.
This is why I created a GoFundMe page, as karate is a self funded sport and after winning gold and silver at a national level within Australia, the USA Open and Junior International Cup is the next level in my career. Although I would not have reached my current level and ability without the support of my parents and as karate is self-funded, funds to attend the USA Junior International Cup are placed with my parents whom have supported me since I began karate at age 9 in 2007. After so much support and given I hope too give back and relieve much of the stress that gathering funds for such an extraordinary experience can bring.
Any amount will be extremely appreciated and will provide me the chance too compete at a level that has taken much of my life too reach, I will strive too produce results that are reflective of the dedication I have too karate and my family, I hope you can help me reach America
