Uganda Mission/Medical Trip

Dear Friends and Family:
As some of you already know, I am planning on going on my very first mission trip this year! Three weeks ago, I was blessed to be chosen to serve on a mission trip under the leadership of the Brooklyn Tabernacle. I'm still not sure what the next big step for me is, but I know that my heart for missions has grown and my heart to serve whether in NY or any other part of the world has grown as well. I'm currently employed and working three jobs to try and put myself through school. This will be a financial burden, but I do believe that I'm called to serve.
Uganda's modern history has been marked by dictators such as Idi Amin. It's estimated that 500,000 people died during the period of 1971 and 1985. Regional wars, the AIDS epidemic and famine have taken its toll on this society. There are an estimated 2 million orphans in Uganda. Nevertheless, the country is slowly recovering.
I have been selected to work on the medical team from June 6, 2014-June 14, 2014. This team works strategically in setting up a portable clinic to serve thousands during my week stay. The entire time while there I will be working to give some relief to families that are living in impoverished village areas that have little or no medical care. I also will be ministering to more than 250 children that either live in the orphanage or attend the school founded by The Good News Church, located in Uganda.
I have to have all the finances for Uganda paid in full in ONE WEEK. Would you consider partnering with me on this journey by supporting me financially? I know that this is a time-sensitive request and a sacrifice, but donations are not simply going to me, but also to the work of the Lord, and as a result you will take this trip along with me! The total cost of this trip is $2300, which includes airfare, housing, and food.
I also ask that you keep me in your prayers as I walk in the light of the Lord.
