Tristan's Surprise Maternity Leave
Donation protected
Tristan Harty is my little sister. She has always gone after what she wants, no matter what life throws in her way. She is strong, determined, and kind... and now she is a mother!
After a somewhat complicated pregnancy, and weeks of bedrest in the hospital, Tristan was rushed to Brigham and Women's Hospital over Labor Day weekend. John James, who had seemed eager to make an entrance over the previous few weeks, was born at 29 weeks via an emergency c-section. James has been doing very well at the NICU at Brigham and Women’s hospital, and is expected to continue to make steady gains. That being said, he has a long road ahead of him, and will likely be in the NICU until close to his due date of November 19th.
Due to the emergency c-section and early delivery Tristan has been unexpectedly out of work, and will continue to be out of work for several more weeks while she heals. In order to cover her health insurance premiums, she will return to work part time until James comes home, and then will again be leaving work for several weeks in order to spend her maternaity leave with James.
Tristan has accrued sick days but with James being so early, will be taking more time off than she has sick days. They will run out in October, and the funds raised by this GoFundMe will help to replace the missing salary for the remainder of her maternity leave and keep the lights on at home.
Tristan has been so grateful for the support of friends, family, and coworkers throughout her pregnancy and James' birth, and is extremely excited to bring him home to meet you!
