Hello dear friends far and wide,
I have wanted to update you all for quite awhile about life, although helping to care for my twin toddler nieces often consumes my free times (can't complain...I love them beyond words!). So, this message serves a dual purpose in updating and asking for your prayers/support as I take a trip to Afghanistan!
I am excited to share that I will be traveling to KABUL, AFGHANISTAN early September through the 20th to visit dear Afghan and Expat friends that I know from my time spent living & working there. This page was set up to inform & update, as well as give opportunity for those to give (no pressure really!!). I'll be updating here as well!
Visa for entry/stay in Afghanistan
A significant amount of prayer, discernment and finances have gone into planning and organizing this trip. I have felt a sense of urgency, of which is hard to describe, to go and visit. I will be spending time with Expats and Afghans alike that have sojourned with during my time living in Afghanistan. Amazing reunions and conversations await! It's also a bit surreal that I will be celebrating 7 years since being diagnosed with cancer (still in remission!) in Afghanistan. How life has changed since then (personally & globally). WOW!
The preparations into planning this journey has been a financial (& emotional) opportunity. One things for sure, the price of jet fuel has risen! Considering I only work part time, the flight tickets seemed impressively expensive. If you can/would like to help cover some of these travel expenses (approx $3000), this page will provide opportunity (click on the donate button). Even MORESO, I would ask you to pray for a few, yet significant, prayer points. With ongoing escalating global/local events, I (& my family even moreso!) definitely appreciate all, and any, of your prayers for a fruitful trip and safe travels/return!
