TOWSON UNIVERSITY'S ENACTUS CHAPTER
HELP US SHAPE BALTIMORE’S FUTURE BY EDUCATING OUR YOUTH THROUGH A SUMMER PROGRAM WE ARE PLANNING TO IMPLEMENT ON THE SUMMER OF 2015
Who are we?
Enactus is a community of students and business leaders committed to impact as many lives as possible by applying their passions, talents and ideas. We work side-by-side with people in need to create opportunity. So every person and community we touch is empowered to live up to their fullest potential.
What do we do?
Enactus provides opportunities for students to design and implement community projects, local and international, that address real problems. The teams get the opportunity to showcase their projects at the annual Enactus World Cup Competition in front of judges and other Enactus teams from around the world.
Our Project:
For this project, we're planning on running a summer program that will help high school juniors as well as seniors in the Greater Baltimore area become successful in life.
Our focus is going to be on the following three areas:
College >> Financial resource literacy so that they wont give up on college just because of financial needs.
Career >> Enhance their current job skills as well as help them gain new ones, through different interactive activities.
Personal Development >> Engage in leadership and confidence building activities. Help them shape and acknowledge their self-worth.
Great project, So what do you need the money for?
Well, this is a week long program and we're planning on having two of them during the summer of 2015.
Here are our expenses:
Dorms: Since the students are coming to us, we need to rent about 15 dorm rooms if we were to reach our maximum number of students per program; which is 30.
Cost: $2,000
Insurance: Since the students (minors) will be staying on Towson University campus, Insurance is required. Cost: $1,000
Food and Beverages: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be made available at the school's cafeteria . We need to pay the school to provide these services.
Cost: $2,100
Resources: This consists of the small items we need; study materials, projectors, resources, and supplies.
Cost: $1,000
So please help us bring this project to life and together we will show these students the opportunities they're unable to see because of the predicament they find themselves in.
