Our dear friend, Tony Mazarakis, has recently been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic and liver cancer. Our hope is to raise funds to help him and his family in these hours of need.
Tony has been a member of El Dorado County Search and Rescue since 2012. As in everything that he does, Tony focused countless hours of selfless time and resources into helping others. He earned his "West Slope Ground Team" patch after a very tough year of classroom and physical task accomplishments and currently serves as EDSAR's Management Team Captain, an elected position based upon the confidence of his fellow team members in his leadership abilities.
Tony is always here for his SAR family... whether that means spending an entire night drawing up plans for the next search "operational period," providing front-line logistical support, or riding along with SAR's "off-highway vehicle" team looking for lost souls. Tony is the definition of our credo: "So That Others May Live"
Tony is fighting valiantly for his own life; and now it is time for us to be here for him. Please help us to raise $25,000 to defer medical costs and help his family.
